2016 MLB Predictions

Hey all, Steve here.

It is 34 degrees in New York City and Chicago right now and it’s 31 in Boston and 28 in Detroit, but it is April 3rd and it’s time for Opening Day in baseball! It’s that time of year where every team has some excitement around them. Maybe they are excited because they have a chance to go to the World Series (Astros, Royals, Red Sox, Mets, Cubs, Cardinals). Or maybe they are excited because of their up and coming rookies that are going to take them places in a few years (Phillies, Braves, Twins). Sure, there are teams like the Phillies that will be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs as soon as Francisco Liriano throws the first pitch of the new season today as the Cardinals visit the Pirates, but there will be fun to be had by all.

It’s also time for some “expert” predictions! Let’s first take a look at last years predictions:

As you can see, the Dodgers or the Red Sox did NOT win the World Series. Like I say time and time again, this whole thing about predicting things is hard work! Hell, Not one of us even had the Royals making the PLAYOFFS and only one of us had the Mets in there as a Wild Card. That is the thing that I love most about baseball. You could make a case for half of the teams in the league winning the World Series nearly every year. This year, 2 of the most up and down teams in baseball could face off in the World Series – the Red Sox and the Giants – and absolutely nobody would be surprise.

With all that being said, let’s get to our predictions for 2016! Listen, it is the first time in years that I can predict my Mets to win the World Series and not feel bad about being a homer! Leave me alone…or BRING IT ON! Here we go!
