CineSportsTalk vs MLB Network: 2016 Top 10 Second Basemen

Share

Every year MLB Network runs down their list of “Top 10 Right Now” at each position. They do it a few different ways. First, they use their machine called the “Shredder.” The Shredder takes all of the human factor out of it and goes based solely on numbers alone. They rank each position in that manner and use both offensive numbers as well as defensive numbers. Then the host of the show, Brian Kenny, gets his chance to count them down as does Bill James and then finally the special guest host for that particular countdown gets their say.

We will start with the Shredder, Brian Kenny and the special guest host and then move on to Steve, Scott and the Sportz Nutt from CineSportsTalk! Here we go and let us know what you think!

Steve’s Top 10

10. Neil Walker

Walker

Geez, you would think the boy money boys at ESPN could update this mans picture. He’s a Met. It was either him or Daniel Murphy here and they are the same player, but Walker plays much better defense.

9. Ben Zobrist

Zobrist

Certainly feels like a conspiracy theory that Zorilla’s picture was updated and not Walker’s.

8. Dustin Pedroia

dp

Mr. Reliable at 2nd base.

7. Josh Harrison

joshharrison

Finally getting his chance to be the every day 2nd baseman.

6. Brian Dozier

dozier

Could be the most powerful of the group.

5. Rougned Odor

odor

Looks cocky as all hell, but the man can play. Now, can he prove it at the big league level?

4. Ian Kinsler

kinsler

Mr. Reliable, part 2.

3. Dee Gordon

gordon

I still don’t trust this man. Without the speed he is just an average 2nd baseman. He has it, so I rank him at #3.

2. Robinson Cano

cano

Had an amazing 2nd half of 2015 and could be back to the old Cano, minus some of the pop because of Safeco.

1. Jose Altuve

The man has it all and he is will be in the top spot on this list for years to come.
