David Brings Us His Predictions For The Greatest Royal Rumble

Normally we only get one Royal Rumble pay per view per year, with 30-men all looking for a chance to main event Wrestlemania. But this year WWE has decided to reward us with another and they are making it bigger than ever. Not only will this be the biggest Royal Rumble event ever, but every championship, aside from the Women’s championships, will all be defended on a stacked card.

John Cena vs. Triple H

I can’t say it enough, but I am not John Cena’s biggest fan. Yet for once I don’t hate this match at all. I don’t think there is anyone better to face Cena right now than Triple H. Both men have done plenty in their careers and don’t need to be taking the spotlight away from any of the younger talent. Not to mention it’s been a few years since these two have faced each other. I’m quite excited about a John Cena match for once.

Prediction: John Cena defeats Triple H

The Undertaker vs. Rusev in a Casket match

I’m looking forward to this match, not because of Undertaker or Rusev, but because they are bringing back the casket match. Growing up this and buried alive matches were some of my favorites. The matches always had some twist and turn that you usually never saw coming. I’m really hoping that this is a step in bringing these type of matches back because it gives us a different environment to witness. In regards to the match, I don’t think it will last very long because of Taker’s limitations, but I also think Jericho somehow gets involved since he was added and removed so abruptly from the match.

Prediction: The Undertaker defeats Rusev

Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Kalisto for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

I haven’t kept up with 205 Live at all. I know Alexander is a magician in the ring, but him being relegated to 205 Live doesn’t help his stock. The kid has a bright future, once he gets more T.V. time. And Kalisto. Yeah. Sums it up. Lucha! Lucha!

Prediction: Cedric Alexander defeats Kalisto to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. The Usos for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

Both these tag teams have reinvented themselves over the last year. The Usos went from face paint to thugs. Harper & Rowan went from followers into bulldozers. I’m hoping that this match is given more time than at Wrestlemania because these two teams can steal the show if they wanted to. Jimmy got the unexpected win on Smackdown this past week, so I think the odds will be evened.

Prediction: The Bludgeon Brothers defeat The Uso to retain the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy vs. Sheamus & Cesaro for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship

The Woken Family. The Deleters of Worlds. Whatever Wyatt & Hardy decide to call themselves will be WONDERFUL. These two are meshing so well and making Raw absolutely delightful. I think The Bar and them will put on a slobberknocker, but since The Bar are on Smackdown now, this is just lining up the stars for the Woken Warriors.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy defeat Sheamus & Cesaro to become the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions

Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Jinder Mahal for the United States Championship

This match frightens me on all levels. For some reason Jinder Mahal continues to be given these matches and somehow wins them. I want to think that because Mahal is on Raw and Jeff is on Smackdown that Jeff will pull this win out, but everything with Mahal isn’t predictable. So my pick is based on me trying to jinx myself out of something no one wants.

Prediction: Jinder Mahal defeats Jeff Hardy to become the new United States Champion

Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. Samoa Joe vs. The Miz in a Ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship

This match. This match right here. It will steal the show. I know there is still plenty more after this, but just look at the names and the type of match. It has show stopping written all over it. Seth Rollins is back in his groove this year putting on great match after great match. Then you have Balor and Joe who together know how to put on a hard hitting contest. Add a little Miz to the mix and this match will be Awesome.

Prediction: Seth Rollins retains the Intercontinental Championship

AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship

Heel Shinsuke is phenomenal. Even his new entrance song is badass. I’m hoping that these guys are given the time they deserved at Wrestlemania and the creativity to make this match special. I’m hoping these guys put on the 6 star match they can, and help us forget what will probably happen in the following match. No two guys are better than these two right now. I’ll put my money on it. That goes out to all you Omega fan boys out there.

Prediction: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats AJ Styles to become the new WWE Champion

Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns in a Steel Cage match for the Universal Championship

Lesnar winning at Wrestlemania makes so much sense now. Not because of the new contract or any of that nonsense, but because it wasn’t the right crowd for Reigns to win in front of. Reigns is loved in Saudi Arabia. He has a huge following there. Why not wait to crown him as champ in a place where he will actually get the cheers WWE wants him to get. Not to mention it’s a cage match where Reigns can escape and still have Lesnar looking strong.

Prediction: Roman Reigns defeats Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion

The Greatest Royal Rumble

The first ever 50-man Royal Rumble. That sentence in its own is exciting enough to give you goosebumps. The winner will be given a shiny trophy, and hopefully something more to sweeten the pot. Either way this will be thrilling. As of right now we have superstars like Rey Mysterio, the Great Khali, Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryan entering the match. There are still 25 entrants yet to be named, meaning we are still in for some or many surprise entrants. I’d like to see a young superstar win, maybe an NXT guy, but I’m going straight with my heart on this one.

Prediction: Daniel Bryan wins the Greatest Royal Rumble

The Greatest Royal Rumble will be live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on the WWE Network on Friday April 27th at 12 p.m. ET/ 9 a.m. PT.
