David has some WrestleMania 31 predictions of his own!

The day has finally arrived! The showcase of the immortals. The Super Bowl of wrestling; WrestleMania! With tons of possibilities, tonights show can be one of the most memorable or disappointing WrestleMania’s in quite sometime.

Last PPV I went a staggering 3-4 as I tried to kick off the year prediction rust. Now to what everyone has been waiting for, my WrestleMania 31 predictions!

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

The show of shows is kicking off this year with the match dedicated to the biggest athlete to ever step into a WWE ring, Andre the Giant. Every superstar not in a match tonight will be showcased in this Battle Royal, giving them all a chance at their WrestleMania moment. Although there isn’t much of a storyline, except everyone wanting to climb to the top, there has been one superstar that has been on the rise. One superstar who fell from grace, and has slowly made himself relevant again. All while being a stunt double.

Match Result: Damien Mizdow wins the Andre the Giant Battle Royal

Tyson Kidd & Cesaro (C) vs. The New Day vs. Los Matadores vs. The Usos for the WWE Tag Team Championship

Tyson Kidd & Cesaro have surprisingly been great since winning the Tag Titles from The Usos last month at Fastlane. Unfortinately their reign hasn’t been capitalized at all. They’ve been thrown into random matches with all three of these tag teams and no true storyline has come from it. For the second year in a row the Tag Team Championship has been thrown together last minute and is the reason not many tag team have been able to gain momentum. Either way I don’t see the titles changing tonight.

Match Result: Tyson Kidd & Cesaro retain the Tag Team Championship

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

As hard as WWE tried to build this feud up, they didn’t do a very great job at it. When Orton finally returned from his absence instead of immediately attacking Rollins, for putting him out of action for months, he actually sides with Seth and The Authority. That part was done perfectly, what happened next wasn’t. Instead of building up the tension, WWE was a few weeks too soon with Orton’s inevitable turn on Seth. He beats the life out of Seth one week and then continues to do it over and over again the following weeks, taking out all the suspense of their match at WrestleMania. Seems to me Orton got his revenge, look for Seth to get the final say tonight.

Match Result: Seth Rollins defeats Randy Orton

AJ Lee & Paige vs. The Bella Twins

This is match is giving Divas a chance, but not the way I think the Divas would like. For another year the Divas Championship will not be up for grabs at WrestleMania. Not sure why the Divas don’t get a chance for the Championship but at least they are on the card. The storyline for this one has been average at best, but is better than some of the other story lines. This is AJ’s first PPV back, so I don’t see how she doesn’t go home with the W.

Match Result: AJ Lee & Paige defeat The Bella Twins

Rusev (C) vs. John Cena for the United States Championship

I really wish this match wasn’t happening tonight. This looks to be a repeat of last years WrestleMania when Bray Wyatt was buried by Super Cena. Rusev’s build up has been done beautifully. Slow and big major victories. After winning at Fastlane last month it was inevitable that John Cena was going to come back and make his mark on Rusev. A loss from Cena tonight doesn’t hurt his legacy. He could retire before WrestleMania tonight and will be a first ballot Hall of Famer for next year. A Rusev loss could completely bury the superstar and become a jobber. Hey, maybe Jack Swagger could finally get a win over him. WrestleMania is the show to leave the fans pleased. I’m not sure how pleased they will be after this one though. Hopefully the USA chants will weed out the boos.

Match Result: Super Cena defeats Rusev to become the new United States Championship

The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

This has been the best executed storyline throughout all of WrestleMania. Undertaker has not been seen from since last years defeat at the hands of Brock Lesnar, but that hasn’t mattered because Bray Wyatt has done everything to carry this story. His calling out of the Undertaker, the burning of a handmade casket for Taker and even the laughter of the burning of his chair. Wyatt has gone above and beyond for this very moment where he becomes the new face of fear. I’m not sure in what shape Taker will be when he returns, but the story itself has out done everything else. Hopefully WWE doesn’t hurt neither mans progress with the result.

Match Result: The Undertaker defeat Bray Wyatt by disqualification

Bad News Barrett (C) vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper vs. Stardust vs. R-Truth in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

The storyline here has been quite fun one. The Intercontinental Championship has left Raw and Smackdown in the hands of a different superstar every week, although Bad News Barrett hasn’t been defeated for the title. Everyone involved in the match has been involved in the storyline, and even though Dean Ambrose seemed like the heavy favorite at first, the addition of Daniel Bryan has completely changed the playing field. This is exactly what WWE needed to do to give some relevance to the Intercontinental Championship and who better than the true face of the WWE Universe.

Match Result: Daniel Bryan wins the Intercontinental Championship

Sting vs. Triple H

This is easily the match everyone is tuning in to see. Sting’s WWE in ring debut. The question everyone will be looking to be answered is whether Sting is still be able to compete in the squared circle at his age. And I think having Triple H face him is a perfect way of making sure Sting will be safe. If there’s anyone who knows how to work in the ring it is The Game, Triple H. This storyline hasn’t needed much just because of the names involved. Hopefully it isn’t Sting’s only WrestleMania moment.

Match Result: Sting defeats Triple H

Brock Lesnar (C) vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

This can be the biggest disaster of WrestleMania 31. On one side you have the beast incarnate, who has dismantled the WWE over the last year. Who recently resigned a multi year contract with the WWE. On the other side you have the Samoan bulldozer Roman Reigns. Who won the Royal Rumble and then defeated the fan favorite Daniel Bryan to earn his spot at the main event of WrestleMania. Unfortunately for him, the storyline has been terrible and the fans are not behind him at all. And finally when both superstars get a face to face with each other, instead of trash talking or becoming physical, they play a tug of war with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Much like that, this whole story has been a joke. Even though Brock did resign with WWE on Tuesday, I don’t see how WWE can just kill Roman Reigns momentum by losing to Brock. It would make him look terrible to the audience and prove they really don’t think he is ready. The better choice would be to have Mr. Money in the Bank cash in. But something tells me that won’t happen. I just see one outcome here, no matter what WWE is trying to make us think.

Match Result: Roman Reigns defeats Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion
