The UFC so far is going on a hot streak with their last few fight cards, especially the free events which have been good. We only have two more events left for this year including this one and both cards are stacked with amazing fights. I’m looking forward to this main card because all four fights are action packed and none of the fighters will be looking for a decision win, they will all look to end the fight in any round. We will have a spectacular main event ,mark my words because the two participating are former world champions who are top five in their division and looking to become the number one contender with a victory Saturday night. If you don’t know much about MMA or are looking for action packed fights, make sure you don’t miss this event.

Light Heavyweight Glover Teixeira vs. Misha Cirkunov: This is a very good fight that will determine who will stay as a contender. Both fighters are looking for a finish and if you look at their records you can see that’s all they care to do. This is a very dangerous fight for Glover,if he wins it proves he is still a top contender in the division but wouldn’t get him any closer to a title shot because he is fighting against a fighter with not a lot of fame or notoriety to move up in the rankings. If he loses and especially by a TKO or submission,it might be time to reevaluate his career or retire because he is 38 years old and in MMA years that’s ancient. Misha has the opportunity of a life time going up against a former title contender with favorable popularity on national television. If he wins impressively, his stock will go up and could be itching for a title fight soon. We have two high level black belts who love to strike and that’s where I see the fight happening and ending for one of them, they both lost their last fights by KO and will have to prove who has the better chin because right not its under question. My prediction is Misha Cirkunov via KO/TKO in the 2nd round.

Welterweight Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Mike Perry: Remember when I said this will be a violent night? Well then get ready because these two upcoming fighters are looking to put on a show and get an impressive win on national televison. Santiago is a true veteran and a dark horse in the welterweight division. He has been in the UFC since 2013 but didn’t get any recognition until he KO’d Gunner Nelson last July. Santiago is a crafty veteran who will need to use his striking to take Perry to the ground and try to submit him or grind out a win. Mike doesn’t have a lot of tools to win the fight, but what he does have is KO power which he has used to win 11 out of his last 12 fights. Hopefully, Perry has worked on his ground game because he is going to need that for his next few fights because I highly doubt anyone wants to stand with him and take a chance of becoming one of his next KO victims. My prediction is Santiago via Submission in the 3rd round.

Featherweight Ricardo Lamas vs. Josh Emmett: The co main event of the evening will be an exciting one and I hope this will also move the fighters one step closer in the rankings to fight for Max Holloway’s belt. Ricardo is an exciting fighter who has lots of determination to win, a high skill level, and is a true veteran, but I feel he never lives up to the hype against top competition or always seems to fall short. This wasn’t the case in his last two fights, winning by TKO and submission. He will need that type of momentum to beat Josh, who is a dark horse in the division and has a lot of skills to stop Lamas’s winning streak. Lamas will need to be very patient with his striking, especially while kicking Josh because it can be used to take him down. Also, I recommend letting josh come to Ricardo to catch him with a punch or combination while he is coming in for a take down or a strike… basically counterstriking his opponent. Josh is going to be the slower fighter in this fight, but he will be the stronger and better wrestler. I would like to see him power Lamas to the cage, then use his wrestling and take him down to grind out a win or submission. That’s how I see Josh winning the fight and his best chance at winning.  My prediction is Josh Emmett Via Decision.

Main Event Welterweight Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos Anjos: After each fighter lost their championship belt, they have come back more determined and rejuvenated to be a better fighter and become a champion again. Its always good to see two former champions in the main event because the level of competition doesn’t get ant better. I’m looking forward to seeing how this fight plays out both with the striking and grappling. Robbie shouldn’t brawl with Rafael because even though he’s not the best striker in the world, he has good leg kicks and power. I would suggest he gets him against the cage and then utilize his power to slow Rafael down.  Rafael will be the quicker fighter, but once he slows him down and strikes more and takes him down, he can establish good ground and pound like he did to Josh Koscheck. Dos Anjos will need to use his Muay Thai and his speed to beat Robbie in this fight. I recommend he uses movement and attacks his legs first because just like the Diaz brothers,he doesn’t check them. My prediction for this fight is Rafael dos Anjos via split Decision.
