CineSportsTalk Army! I am back with another preview for the next UFC event that has the featherweight title on the line and the co-main event will determine the number one contender for the heavyweight division. There will be 5 fights on the PPV card which I’m looking forward to seeing because all the fighters are basically top contenders who are one or two wins away from a title fight which equals to a more exciting fight for the fans. The main event is a rematch from a match that happened earlier this year where Max dethroned Jose Aldo and this fight will answer a lot of questions for fight fans. Is Max going to be the next featherweight star or does Aldo still have what it takes to be champion or is it time for him to retire? Our current Heavyweight Champion Stipe Mioco has KO’d his last five opponents and he will keep a close eye on the co-main event because that will be his next opponent, both fighters are strikers with a lot of TKO/KO in their resume so don’t blink.

Tecia Torres vs. Michelle Waterson: This is a very interesting fight for two reasons. The first being Tecia is probably one win away from getting a title shot and will complete a trilogy with current champion Rose Namajunas who share a win a piece. Second reason is Michelle is coming of a loss and had she won would have fought in UFC 217 for the title but instead got rocked and choked out which was embarrassing how it happened, so I know she is looking to erase that loss with a win over a top ten opponent and get right back in line for a shot at the champion. Torres key to winning will be to use her striking to set up her wrestling to ground and pound or try to submit her, I don’t see her winning the striking exchanges. Michelle needs to use her striking and movement to win this fight because Tecia is very aggressive and will not tire or give up, she needs to be alert always because if she is taken down she will be tested again and we’ll see if her Jiu Jitsu has improved from her last fight. Both are veteran fighters who I believe have a lot to prove and will put on a show especially with title possibility on the line. My prediction for this fight is Tecia Torres via Decision (unanimous).

Eddie Alvarez vs. Justin Gathje: If you’re looking for a brawl or a TKO/KO to happen look no further because this fight is going to be action packed. Eddie is coming off a no contest and a TKO loss, you must give it up to Eddie for taking this fight against a game opponent that probably hits harder and faster. Alvarez has a lot to prove and if he can win this fight he will be back in title contention. He needs to go back to his wrestling roots to grind out a win because if he stands up with Justin he might not recover after all the damage he has taken in his last two fights. Justin is a special fighter who never gives up, always coming forward and he hits like a train! I recommend he keep the fight on its feet. I see him winning just because he hits so hard and quick and I don’t see Eddie stopping him. If the fight goes to the ground both fighters are division 1 wrestlers which makes it interesting to see who has the better wrestling and can implement their game plan. My prediction is Justin via TKO in the 2nd round.

Henry Cejudo vs. Sergio Pettis: Both fighters are trying to climb their way to a title fight in the not so popular flyweight division which looked like would be terminated by Dana White after the Demetrious Johnson drama that happened earlier this year. Sergio is the younger brother of Anthony Pettis but unfortunately not as exciting, but he is a solid competitor with high level striking and is probably one fight away from his title shot. Henry is coming off an impressive KO of the latest title contender Wilson Reis, in the post-fight interview he said he thinks he is the one to dethrone Demetrious. I disagree because Johnson destroyed him in the first round easily, but I love the confidence he has and that’s something you need to have in the fight game. Sergio’s strengths are his striking which means he needs to keep it standing, no leg kicks, and use his jab to set up straight or upper cut because I see Cejudo leaves himself exposed in his stroking stance. Henry will like to strike with Pettis in the beginning, but I feel his best chance are to take it to the ground and grind out a win because Sergio weakness is the wrestling. My prediction for this fight is Henry via Decision.

Alistair Overeem vs. Francis Ngannou: Both fighters are high level strikers with a ton of power in both of their hands. Not much to preview both fighters like to impose their will on the opponent with their striking, always looking for the KO/TKO. This will be an exciting fight but look for the TKO/KO to be in the second or third round because usually with so much on the line they try to read each other in the beginning which leads to a boring round but you never know they much just go after it once the bell rings but I doubt it. My prediction for this fight is Francis via 2nd round TKO.

Max Holloway (Champion) vs. Jose Aldo: This is the rematch that will determine if Max is here to stay or his championship win over Aldo was just a one hit wonder. Many questions to be answered for Jose after losing 2 of his last three fights by KO/TKO, I would like to see how he performs because it’s not like he fought bad in his last fight with Max he just got caught in the third round and couldn’t recover. Holloway is on fire winning eleven in a row and leaving no doubt he is the best fighter in that division. I would love to see him fight former champion Conor McGregor again I think that would be an amazing five round fight. Jose’s keys to win are movement, leg kicks and not staying in the pocket and not standing still always moving not giving Max a chance to catch him. Holloway key to win is to move Jose to cage and impose his will to eventually take him down to ground in pound also take chance like he did in the first fight to beat Aldo again. This should be a fun main event and blessed to have such an interesting fight after Frankie Edgar was forcing to withdraw from an injury. My predication for this fight is Max Holloway via TKO in the 4th or 5th round.
