Fernando Talks UFC 208: New Division, New Champion For The First Time Ever In Brooklyn

Tonight’s card is very underrated and not a lot of people feel it’s worth PPV money. There is an argument for that, but I think it’s a good card and if you’re a fan it’s worth it. I think it’s always better when you split it with some friends. First fight on the main card is Dustin Poirier vs Jim Miller. Dustin is coming of a TKO loss to very quick and strong Michael Johnson. He would love to get a win against Miller who is a ranked opponent and is on a 3 fight win streak. A win for Dustin will get him back into title contention. As for Miller, he’s trying to continue his winning streak that he barely had because before winnnig the first of the three he thought about retiring. Good thing he didn’t because his fights are amazing and a lot of fun to watch. I see this fight becoming a brawl if it stays on the feet but if Jim can take it to the ground I believe his jujitsu is a lot stronger than Dustin and could see him geting a submission win. I like Jim in this fight I believe he win by split decision or submission.

Next fight is Glover Teixeira vs Jared Connonier, both fighter’s have something to prove and have heavy hands and I don’t see this fight going passed the 1st round. Glover is coming off a KO loss to Anthony Johnson so you know he wants to bounce back and he’s going to have his hands full with Jared who is also heavy handed and looking for the KO. Both fighter’s have been KO before so we are going to see who has the better chin. On to the next one which is Ronaldo Souza vs Tim Boetsch. This fight is going to be good and it is a very underrated battle between these two veteran fighters. Ronaldo is definitely on paper the better fighter and if he wins he will be getting a title shot for the Middleweight Championship of the world. But in his way is Tim aka The Barbarian who will give him a run for his money. Tim is a very good opponent with a great opportunity to take away Souza’s momentum and make it his own because if he beats him he will get a title shot if he wins 2 or 3 more time in a row. I see this fight ending in a lot of ways and you can never count Tim out – my gut says Tim finds a way to get a decision or TKO win.

The Co-Main Event of the night will be the legend Anderson “The Spider” Silva vs Derek Brunson. I can’t wait for this fight I really hope Silva wins! I’m definitely not overlooking Brunson as he is very skilled and heavy handed. Silva can’t play around with this man because if you are not focused he will eat you alive. This is another hard fight to figure out but I seen both fighter fight and I believe if Silva keeps it on the feet he will dominate Brunson unless he gets a lucky punch or Brunson take Silva to the ground and grinds out to a boring decision win.

Now the main event will be the first ever women 145 featherweight fight and title fight, it will be Holly Holm vs Germaine de Randamie. Talk about underrated – that’s all this fight has gotten and that’s understandable because Holly’s opponent isn’t very popular but trust me she is a fighter and will bring it to Holly tonight. Both are champions from different sports so we are getting to high level fighter’s in their prime in the biggest stage in women’s fighting plus one is an ex-boxing champion and the other is a kickboxing champion, thank you very much. This has the making of an all-out war on their feet. I don’t see this fight going to the ground at all.

This isn’t a must see PPV but I think it’s worth watching it with your friends and splitting the bill.
