Fernando Talks UFC 220: Miocic vs. Ngannou

Tonight we are going to witness a UFC Heavyweight title fight like no other and in the voice of the champ “mark my words” this fight will not get past the second round with either a TKO or KO. If you love violence or a fan of TKO/KO both the main and co-main events are fights you won’t want to miss. The fight card isn’t stacked with stars, but the UFC put some good up and coming fighters that will be looking to put on a show especially since it’s a PPV card.

Heavyweight Title Stipe Miocic (c) vs. Francis Ngannou: Like I said before this is going to be a fight where you will see someone go to sleep. I believe Francis is going to win because this guy is a beast in every aspect in MMA. That is especially true of his power and if you don’t believe me look at all his fights in the UFC which equal to 18 min 18 seconds winning six fights in a row with two KO, three TKO and one submission. He did lose one fight in his career which is good because he knows the feeling of losing but I don’t think he’s been tested like Stipe has in his career that question remains to be answered. Francis needs to keep the fight on the feet and use his boxing skills to land one clean punch because I don’t think Stipe can handle Francis’ power. He did survive Overeem’s punch but who knows Stipe is a comeback fighter who never gives up, so I wouldn’t be surprised but I doubt it. Stipe needs to use movement with Francis, but he must be aware that Francis is training for something like that already. The best example is when Francis fought Overeem and he tried to do that until he got KO. I recommended for Miocic to take it to the ground to neutralize Francis striking and power. Stipe has power and if he lands one we will see if Ngannou has a chin which is one of the question MMA fans want to know can he take a punch? We know Miocic can and comeback from losing fight. My predictions are TKO/KO in the second round by Francis Ngannou.

Light Heavyweight Title Daniel Cormier vs. Volkan Oezdemir: This fight is almost similar to the main event because Volkan destroyed his first three opponent but we don’t know much about him other than he hits hard, he is young and talented but we haven’t seen him get tested. Daniel is a very tactical fighter who will try to expose his opponents weakness. He will take it to the ground because Volkan has the advantage on the feet not only in skill but in reach as well. I hope Volkan practiced his wrestling and jiu jitsu because I don’t see Cormier standing especially after his devastating TKO loss, I wouldn’t risk it. Volkan can’t use leg kicks against Cormier because he will use that to take him down, I will have recommended him to use movement and never stand still and use simple combination to prevent Cormier from getting a hold on him. My predictions are Decision (unanimous) by Daniel Cormier.

If you can’t afford to see UFC 220 you can see the free fights on Fox Sports 1 and if you are still not satisfied get your remote and watch Bellator MMA on Spike TV or Showtime (boxing) channels giving good free fights. I hope you all have a good weekend and enjoyed the my preview before the fights.
