UFC 223: Holloway vs. Khabib

Ready for UFC 223? Because it’s going to be a spectacular night of great fights. I just got this feeling so, just trust me. UFC 223 will be held on April 7, 2018, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

There are some great preliminary fights before the main card that should be entertaining that include Alex Caceres vs. Artem Lobov followed by Ray Borg and Brandon Moreno. Both fights look to be very explosive from the opening bell. Before I get into more detail, check out the updated odds on this card!

As for the main card, they are two of the most exciting fights a fight fan could ask for. The first being Joanna vs. Rose; a rematch to see if Rose was either lucky or she’s really that much of a badass. The best part of all is that I will be watching it for free! (If you have a UFC GYM membership they buy the PPV for the members to see or if you know anyone who has the membership they will let you in to as a friend.) Getting back to Rose “Thug Rose” Namajunas (c) Vs. Joanna Jedrzejczk, there was some solid building history with Jedrzjeck that had her as the pick. Before she lost her belt, she was 14-0 with 5 title defenses and a mystic of a fighter much like Anderson Silva who people felt was the greatest of all time. Rose stopped her in the first round and crushed all her dreams on becoming the first fighter to retire with an undefeated record with more title defenses than Ronda Rousey. What I’m looking forward to is seeing how she has improved from her last fight and what she will do to make this comes back from such a devastating loss. As a tactic, she needs to be more active and confuse Rose by adding more takedowns to her game and mixing it with her already amazing kickboxing skill. If she just stands with Rose again I believe she will get the same results as the last fight, a quick loss. Rose shocked the world with her first round TKO and if you don’t believe me listen to the fight commentary. Rose’s key to winning again is to stay focused on her game plan and not let the distractions of being a champion get to her. Some fighters can win the title but it’s hard to maintain it with the same mentality of a contender. Rose needs to keep in mind that Joanna is the one with all the pressure because she is still talking trash, needs to prove it was only a fluke, and she is the better fighter. Keep the steady game plan and Joanna will fold under the pressure. My prediction for this fight is TKO in the third round and still champion Thug Rose!!

Max Holloway Vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov: Well shit hit the fan once Tony Ferguson got hurt but Holloway got the call and saved the day! I really want to see this fight because it’s two of the best fighters in the world, in their prime, and each need to prove they are the number one lightweight in the world. All Nurmagomedov fights are won by him controlling his opponent on the ground and speaking to his opponent in the process. Saying things like, “You know I deserve to win” and other mental hits that give him the leg up on the physical by getting in their heads. If you don’t believe me go watch his last two fights & listen closely. Against Holloway, he needs to do exactly that and not take any chances with him standing up, even though he leaves himself open at times. Holloway needs to stick and move and not let Nurmagomedov have any chance to take him to the ground even though Holloway has a good ground game. I wouldn’t play with fire, but Holloway is known for taking risk and that’s why hardcore fans love about him. Win or lose, he always puts on a show. My prediction for this fight is Decision for Khabib Nurmagomedov.
