UFC is back again for another stacked card but this time it’s going to be free on FOX tonight starting at 8pm. It will star the 9x flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson Vs Wilson Reis. Let’s hope this event is better than UFC 210 which happened last Saturday if you didn’t know, I was really hyped for the event but disappointed how the co-main event unfolded because I felt the doctor should have let Chris Weidman keep fighting if he felt he was OK and he looked fine to me. The main event was horrible and I didn’t understand Anthony Johnson’s game plan to wrestle a wrestler who is better than him it just didn’t make sense and the worst part was seeing him give up like he did. The fight I enjoyed the most and I was right about being a war was Thiago Silva Vs Patrick Cote, Thiago won a unanimous decision, but I was at the edge of my seat the whole time it was a lot of fun to watch and I want to give a farewell to Patrick Cote who retired that night. He is a true warrior he never gave up and always put on a show, thank you Patrick Cote for all the fights you gave us.
Jeremy Stephens Vs Renato Moicano will kick off the UFC event on FOX. I’m very interested to see how Jeremy performs since his debut at feather weight he has won 5 of 9 fights which isn’t good enough even though in one of those fights he did beat a former champion but I do feel he will be at his best because if he loses I think he will be released from the promotion. Jeremy has amazing power that he will love to show Renato who has a very good ground game who has submitted 5 opponents out of his 10 wins. I give the advantage to Jeremy as I believe he has more experience also I think he can keep this fight standing up where he can use his boxing skills and power, but I do need to see more movement. He lost his last fight because he didn’t move around more. For Renato to win he needs to take this fight to the ground and use his superior Jiu Jitsu to submit Jeremy. I predict Jeremy via TKO 2nd round.
Next is Ronaldo Souza Vs Robert Whittaker which is the fight I’m most interested in seeing because both fight have so much power in their hands and both fighters are very explosive. Both fighters looked great in their last fights both finishing their opponents. In the standup, I believe they are the same except Robert has a little more speed but when it comes to the ground Ronaldo is on another level he is a world champion in Jiu Jitsu with multiple gold medals. If he can take it to the ground like I believe he will he will submit Robert easily. I predict Ronaldo submitting Robert in the First or second round just like he did to his last opponent, Robert doesn’t have the experience in the ground or competition level of Ronaldo.
The Co-main event will be between two lovely lady’s Rose Namajunas Vs Michelle Waterson. This is a fight between two top contenders who are one fight away from a shot at the strawweight title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Rose lost her last fight because she fought a fighter with better striking and now she will face Michelle who has better wrestling, so I’m very interested in seeing how well Rose will perform against an opponent with better wrestling. In the standup, I think they are the same even though Michelle has more experience, watching both fight last couple of fights it just seems to be they cancel each other out. My prediction for this fight will be Michelle by split decision.
Now for our main event of the evening Demetrious Johnson will defend his title for the tenth time against Wilson Reis, who I believe has no business in the ring with Johnson because Johnson has destroyed everyone in his division there isn’t really anyone left to fight. Reis is a veteran in the sport who will bring a different style to Johnson, but I feel the champ will destroy him because if you see his last five fights he looks unstoppable. Reis has experience as he has been fighting for nine years but he doesn’t have main event experience and isn’t amazing in one style of fighting that will threaten the champ. My prediction for this fight will be a one sided unanimous decision in the favor of Demetrious Johnson.
Those are my prediction for this UFC event I hope you enjoyed, I will be keeping track of my prediction for now on to see what record I have at the end of the year. Here are the weigh-in results:
