Another week another hump day!

Steve here.

We officially had our first nasty caller today on our PODCAST. He was from New York and we LOVED it. Timmy we would love it if you called in more often. We could use the laugh during each show. If your mom doesn’t let you call in again you can always lock yourself in your bathroom and call secretly.

Let’s get to some more important matters.

The Super Bowl is less than 2 weeks away. It will include the number 1 offense in the Denver Broncos against the number 1 defense in the Seattle Seahawks. A lot of times the defensive team will dictate the pace of the game. That might be against a normal offense, but not against the super-powered offense of the Broncos. Think about it. How are the Seahawks going to stop the Playstation man himself, Peyton Manning and his 75 different options to throw the ball to? It just doesn’t add up. The Broncos don’t have the best defense in the league, but you also have to think about the Seahawks offense and how it can’t do anything near what the Broncos can do. I don’t think it will be a blowout, but I do think the Broncos win this one.

Speaking of the Seahawks, let’s talk about that maniac, Richard Sherman. I understand that he was really pumped up when he was giving his post game interview. He just made the play that sent his team to the Super Bowl! He should have just calmed down and let it out after the interview and leading up to the locker room. It was classless and immature. At the same time, I don’t fault him. I can’t even imagine making the play that sends my team to the Super Bowl in front of almost 80,000 screaming fans (plus their surround sound speakers on the field). We don’t really have anything to compare it to so it is a bit unprecedented. That is why so many people have a problem with it. I do…but I don’t.

The Ultimate Warrior is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Let that one digest. Now THERE is a psycho.

Masahiro Tanaka has signed with the New York Yankees. Surprised? Not me. If there was any team that was going to overpay for Tanaka it was going to be the Yankees. They are desperate. Their pitching is sub par and they have signed players this winter that could threaten the record for amount of games missing while on the disabled list (there has to be record keeping on this). They are going to pay him $155 million over the next 7 years. In addition to the actual contract, the Yankees had to pay a $20 million posting fee to simply negotiate with the man. I get it – he was 24-0 last year in Japan. Does that mean you sign him to a 7 yr deal in the United States? For the Yankees the answer was yes. Only time will tell if he was worth it or not.

The Knicks were announced as the highest valued franchise in the NBA. At least they are at the top of something.

Have you seen how much Jonah Hill was paid for his role in Wolf of Wall Street? Right around $60,000. That’s all! He has always wanted to be in a Martin Scorsese film, so he was willing to do it for “peanuts”. So in the end he got his wish of being in a Scorsese flick and he’s been nominated for an Oscar. Can’t get much better than that! Hell, I will do a Scorsese movie for $60,000! I’ll be waiting for the call.

Happy Hump Day and enjoy the rest of your week!
