-Ubisoft has announced the next Far Cry game, titled Far Cry Primal. Far Cry Primal is set in 10,000 BC and features completely new animals, settings, and NPCs never before seen in a Far Cry game. Instead of your usual arsenal of guns, grenade launchers, and flamethrowers, in Primal you must survive with primitive weapons like bows and spears to take down enemies and animals like wooly mammoths. The release date for this full scale Ubisoft game is sooner than you might expect: February 23rd of next year.
-On October 9th, the prices of all PlayStation 4 consoles were dropped to 350 dollars. This 50 dollar price cut puts the PS4 at the same price as Xbox Ones without the Kinect. The price cut will apply to the PS4’s upcoming fall bundles as well, including their Black Ops 3, Battlefront, and NHL 16 bundles. If you still haven’t made the jump to current generation consoles by now, I doubt the prices of the Xbox One or PS4 are going to drop again for a very long time, so now might be the time.
-EA came out with the price for the Star Wars Battlefront season pass, but not a lot of details concerning it. The season pass will cost you 50 dollars and will grant you access to the four expansion packs set to come out for the game. What these expansions actually include is still a mystery. Judging, from the history of other Battlefield games, it’s safe to say that you can probably expect things like new multiplayer game modes, new maps, and new weapons. The season pass will also allow you access to these expansion packs two weeks earlier than if you were to buy them individually.
-Microtransactions made their arrival to Destiny in the form of buyable “silver” this week. With this new form of in-game currency you can now purchase new emotes. Emotes are simply actions that your Destiny character could perform including things such as dancing and taunting. None of these emotes are actually necessary in any way and do NOT actually effect the gameplay, so if you choose to not buy them, there really are no serious repercussions.
-After being pulled from Steam by the game’s publisher WB shortly after its launch, Batman: Arkham Knight will be rereleased later this month for PC. After months of working on the port and patching its numerous bugs and graphical glitches, Rocksteady is now confident that the game is officially ready for consumption. All DLC that has already been available on console versions of the game will also be supported when the game rereleases.
