-Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain gets a release date. Metal Gear designer Hideo Kojima confirms that the latest installment of the Metal Gear franchise is set to release on September 1st of this year on multiple current and last generation consoles. Kojima also stated how he plans for this to be the last Metal Gear for this particular saga, likely hinting at a reboot of the franchise.

-Elite Dangerous (already out on PC) has been confirmed as a timed Xbox One exclusive. The PlayStation 4 version will be announced for a later time eventually, but until then you will only be able to play the game either on a PC or an Xbox One.

-Rock Band 4 has been announced with a release window of sometime this year. Rock Band developer Harmonix has stated that this will be the last Rock Band and will come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

-A new Mortal Kombat X trailer has been announced, featuring nine new brutalities. Brutalities were already confirmed for the new Mortal Kombat, but now we have more substantial examples of how they will work in this newest Mortal Kombat.

-The Nvidia Shield Gaming Console was shown this week. This device allows you to download films, music, and games from the Google Play Store straight to your TV. This console will also allow you to stream games from your PC, and the device also comes with a Netflix style game subscription service called the Nvidia Grid.

-It was a surprisingly interesting week for mobile device games. Arkham Underworld was announced as a mobile game, a Game of Thrones mobile game was announced, and a mobile Mortal Kombat X was also announced this week.
