Cars 3

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

Steve’s Take

Yes I know I have a 5 year old and I should have taken him to the screening for this one, but it was an evening screening and the little guy has to be up early for camp in the morning! Trust me he will see it and he is not movie deprived.

All Eyez On Me

ALL EYEZ ON ME tells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur. The film follows Shakur from his early days in New York City to his evolution into being one of the world’s most recognized and influential voices before his untimely death at the age of 25. Against all odds, Shakur’s raw talent, powerful lyrics and revolutionary mind-set propelled him into becoming a cultural icon whose legacy continues to grow long after his passing. ALL EYEZ ON ME stars Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, Jamal Woolard, Danai Gurira and Demetrius Shipp Jr. as Tupac Shakur.

Steve’s Take

Alright, well you can’t blame me for not taking my son to see this one, right? I was having a blast with him the night of the screening so I allowed my good buddy Nardo to have all the fun that night.

47 Meters Down

Two sisters vacationing in Mexico become trapped in a shark cage on the ocean floor. As their oxygen starts to run out and with great white sharks circling them, the sisters must find a way to get to the surface alive.

Steve’s Take

So this is the bad boy I went to go see this week. While I didn’t think 47 Meters Down was awful, it had its flaws. Even though it was only 89 minutes long, there were bits and pieces of the flick that I thought they could have gone without. That being said, you need to go into this one thinking B shark movie and everything will be alright. I feel like this one was being compared to a modern day Jaws and it simply just isn’t that. Mandy Moore does an OK job, but I think most people would say she would be better off sticking to her role on This Is Us. By the way, is that show any good? Talk to me. Oh, the movie? My final word on this one is 2 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Rough Night

In the R-rated comedy Rough Night, five friends from college – played by Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, and Zoë Kravitz – reunite when they rent a beach house in Miami for a wild bachelorette weekend that goes completely off the rails. Just when all hope is lost, they realize there’s more to the story than they could’ve ever imagined.

Steve’s Take

This one looks so awful. Don’t do it to yourself.

Next Week

That is all for this week people. Next week we have just one release and that is the 73rd Transformers movie. Have a great weekend!
