Wonder Woman

An Amazon princess (Gal Gadot) finds her idyllic life on an island occupied only by female warriors interrupted when a pilot (Chris Pine) crash-lands nearby. After rescuing him, she learns that World War I is engulfing the planet, and vows to use her superpowers to restore peace. Directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster).

Scott’s Take

Wonder Woman kicked my ass. I was completely caught off guard by how GOOD the movie IS. DC has hit this one out of the park. There are some pacing issues but aside from that, WW is likely to be one of the very best films you see this summer.

Steve’s Take

While I didn’t love Wonder Woman as much as the rest of the crew did, I did enjoy it. Scott spoke about some of the pacing issues and there was one moment where Scott and I looked at each other and he said this better pick up. It did pick up, but the fact that it had to be said did have an impact on this one for me. I thought Gal Gadot did a very good job in this one and her acting ability was questioned almost daily by many of our peers in the industry. There are 3 great scenes with action personified and there are some scenes that I questioned the length on. You will want to check this one out for yourself and if you are like all of us at CST, you will be pleasantly surprised based on your expectations. Final word for me is 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Based on the worldwide sensation and bestselling book series, and boasting an A-list cast of comedy superstars headed by Kevin Hart and Ed Helms, DreamWorks Animation brings audiences the long-awaited global movie event, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. This raucously subversive comedy for the entire family tells the story of two overly imaginative pranksters named George and Harold, who hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants.

Scott’s Take

No. Just NO.

Steve’s Take

Scotty this one isn’t for us. Especially you approaching the big 5-0. I have heard good things about this one from parents that went to check it out at the screening. My son came home from school one day this week talking about this one, so guess what is in my future!
