A koala impresario stages a grand singing competition for the world’s animals in order to save his elegant theater in this quirky animated musical.

Scott’s Take

Sing looks like a whole lotta fun. I know I am not the target audience, but I might have to take a gander at this one this week.

Steve’s Take

Sing was a good one. It will forever be the flick that had my son singing “I like big butts and I cannot lie”. So, for that I am grateful. Enjoy!

Assassin’s Creed

Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day. ASSASSIN’S CREED stars Academy Award (R) nominee Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past, 12 Years a Slave) and Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, La Vie en Rose). The film is directed by Justin Kurzel (Snowtown, Macbeth); produced by New Regency, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, DMC Films and Kennedy/Marshall; co-financed by RatPac Entertainment and Alpha Pictures; and distributed by 20th Century Fox. ASSASSIN’S CREED opens in theaters worldwide on December 21st, 2016.

Scott’s Take

Terrible. Simply terrible. Assassin’s Creed is an incoherent mess of a movie that is sure to be on the list of worst films of the year.

Steve’s Take

Just not good. Don’t waste your time.

Live By Night

Ben Affleck writes, produces, and stars in this adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s sprawling crime novel centering on the prodigal son of a prominent police chief, and his gradual descent into the criminal underworld. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Scott’s Take

I am firmly in the corner of Ben Affleck when it comes to directing but Live By Night is a gigantic misfire. Defintely Redbox this one!

Steve’s Take

I have to agree with Scott on this one. Live by Night is mostly just nothing. If I remember correctly, this one had 3 or 4 opportunities to end (and make the film better) and it just kept going on and on and one. Red Box if you must and pass on it if you can. As of right now, this bad boy is in my 10 worst of the year. That being said, it is March 20th and I have seen a bunch of bad films.

Miss Sloan

In the high-stakes world of political power-brokers, Elizabeth Sloane (Jessica Chastain) is the most sought after and formidable lobbyist in D.C. Known equally for her cunning and her track record of success, she has always done whatever is required to win. But when she takes on the most powerful opponent of her career, she finds that winning may come at too high a price.

Scott’s Take

I would watch Mrs. Chastain reciting names and phone numbers from the yellow pages for 2 hours. Sign me up.

Count me in!
