Hidden Figures

HIDDEN FIGURES is the incredible untold story of Katherine G. Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughan (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe)-brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big.

Steve’s Take

I have heard nothing but great things about this one, but I just haven’t had the time to check it out. That all changes this week.

Monster Trucks

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend. Melding cutting edge visual effects and state-of-the-art CGI, Monster Trucks is an action filled adventure for the whole family that will keep you on the edge of your seat and ultimately touch your heart.

Steve’s Take

This one made $33 million domestically and it was really $32.5 million too much. How did you people go out and spend money on this thing?? I’m annoyed with each and every one of you. Just give me a few minutes to recharge my batteries and I will be back to normal.

Lion

Steve’s Take

This is Claudio’s favorite movie of 2016. It just didn’t keep my attention. I tried getting through it, but I just couldn’t. I might give it another shot this week, but don’t bet on it.

Next Week

That’s all for this week, people. Scott should be back next week. For this week, you should definitely go with Hidden Figures. Next week we have Split, The Founder and Sleepless. Have a great week everyone!
