Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages: SPORTZNUTT IS BACK!
It’s been awhile since we connected, but I’ve been a busy man. Took a Christmas vacation with the extended family, hence my unavailability to finish my Predictions mix for the season. My apologies to anyone this may have disappointed. But here I am, in 2016, a brand new year with some brand new predictions? Why not, right? Look forward into a crystal ball and see what’s what? Keep in mind, these are going to be bold:
2016 NHL Champion: Los Angeles Kings – Their veteran leadership is back, defense is solid and they’ll have Mr. Playoff Goalie in the home stretch. Nobody’s catching them.
2016 NBA Champion: San Antonio Spurs – The Warriors need to come down to earth at some point, and this allows Duncan to retire with grace and style.
2016 MLB Champion: Chicago Cubs – And they will beat the Boston Red Sox to do it.
2016 NCAA Basketball Champion: Michigan State – Tom Izzo always does well, so why not finish the job this year?
2016 Royal Rumble Winner: Triple H – It’s all about The Game, setting up a rematch for the title at Wrestlemania.
2016 Super Bowl Winner: Carolina Panthers – Newton’s law of relativity states that he’s awesome.
2016 NCAA Football Champion: Happening sooner, so perhaps not so bold, but let’s take Alabama.
2016 PGA Masters Winner: I honestly don’t watch golf, but I do love The Masters; I’ll take Jimmy Walker, ‘cuz he’s Dyn-o-mite!
2016 Wimbeldon Winner: I honestly don’t watch tennis, but Wimbeldon would have to be my favorite tournament; I’ll take Roger Federer.
2016 Grey Cup Winner: For anyone who cares, I’ll take my Argos.
And there you have it. Welcome to 2016 everyone.
