Hey all – Steve here. Now that we have a weekend without a blizzard, some more people were able to get out to the theaters to catch a flick. I also need to thank you all for listening to my demand that Fifty Shades of Black was not in the top 4 this week. I could have lived with it finishing 5th, but you guys had it in 9th place! Great job! Now, let’s get to it!

1. Kung Fu Panda 3

This Weekend – $41 million

Total – $41 million

We all knew this bad boy would finish in first place this weekend. Kids movies rule all. Well, all not named Star Wars.

2. The Revenant

This Weekend – $12.4 million

Total – $138.2 million

For those of you that thought because this might be so-so Oscar kinda movie that wouldn’t make much money, boy were you wrong. Now closing in on $140 million, The Revenant is doing just fine. #OscarForLeo

3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This Weekend – $10.8 million

Total – $895.4 million

Star Wars

Blah, blah, blah – Star Wars.

4. The Finest Hours

I’ve heard the good and the bad about this one. I’m not surprised by this opening at all.

That’s enough already.

That’s it for this weekend everyone. Not much in the way of big releases next week, so expect another Kung Fu victory next weekend! Have a great week!
