Hey all – Steve here. It was an understandably light weekend at the Box Office as the Super Bowl took center stage last night and with all of the preparations for feasts and drinks, people didn’t have much time to get to the theater. That being said, we have a new champ in the NFL and a back to back champ at the Box Office. Let’s get to it!

1. Kung Fu Panda 3

This Weekend – $21 million

Total – $69.1 million

On the surface, the $21 million this one made this weekend is just so-so, but when you see the rest of the top 5 you will see that it pretty much dominated the rest just as that Denver defense did last night.

2. Hail, Caesar!

This Weekend – $11.4 million

Total – $11.4 million

Lots of stars in this one, but it packed a sub par punch in its opening weekend. Surprisingly this one only has a budget of $22 million, so they are halfway there.

3. The Revenant

This Weekend – $7.1 million

Total – $149.7 million

Still kicking in the top 3. #OscarForLeo – let’s make it happen!

4. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This Weekend – $6.9 million

Total – $906 million

Star Wars

I feel like this movie has been out for 7 months. $905 million domestic? Absurd.

5. The Choice

This Weekend – $6.1 million

Total – $6.1 million

I think I remember seeing one television ad for The Choice. It is not a big release, so it actually didn’t do too bad. With the way people are with zombies nowadays, I think it is a victory for The Choice to have beaten out Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

That’s all for this weekend. Congrats once again to the Broncos and congrats to Kung Fu Panda for being a 2 time champ. There will be a big shakeup next weekend as we have Deadpool, Zoolander 2 and How to Be Single coming out. That all spells trouble for the reigning top 5. Have a great week!
