Hey all – Steve here. It’s Box Office time. The Mets have lost 7 of 8 games so I’m not really in the mood for chit-chat, but I will give you a bit. There were 3 new flicks hitting theaters this weekend and of those 3, you will only see one of them on the list. Unforgettable comes in 7th place with $4.8 million in 2,400 theaters on a $12 million budget and The Promise comes in 9th place with just over $4 million in 2,250 theaters on a $90 million budget. We will get to the one new flick in the Top 5 when we get there. Let’s go!

1. The Fate of the Furious

Budget – $250 million

This Weekend – $38.7 million

Total – $163.6 million

Back to back champs. This monster is now over $900 million worldwide. Get outta here with that. As I said before, I enjoyed this one and if you didn’t then it’s just you taking it too seriously or you have never liked a film in this franchise. If you haven’t seen it yet and want to have some fun at the theater then this is one you should be going for.

2. The Boss Baby

Budget – Undisclosed

This Weekend – $12.8 million

Total – $137 million

Staying in the #2 spot again this week is Boss Baby. My son saw this one and obviously enjoyed it as he needs to stop in every story we go to that has these toys and play with them. At nearly $140 million, this one is clearly a success. Let’s see how much longer it can stay in the #2 spot.

3. Beauty and the Beast

Budget – $160 million

This Weekend – $10 million

Total – $471.1 million

Well look at this. The exact same top 3 from last week. There is nothing more that I can say about this one. It is a beast (I’ve used that one too many times, but I don’t care). If you haven’t seen it by now, you are probably about to run out of time and you might as well wait for it on Bluray.

4. Born in China

Budget – Undisclosed

This Weekend – $5.1 million

Total – $5.1 million

Alight, so this is our new kid on the block. As opposed to the other 2 new flicks for this week, Born in China only opened in 1,500 theaters yet it sill managed to make it into the Top 5. I didn’t see this one, but if it is DisneyNature, it is going to be damn good. If you must read a review on this one and you missed it, here is Ralph’s review on this one.

5. Going In Style

Budget – $25 million

This Weekend – $5 million

Total – $31.8 million

Thank you, everyone! You guys got the little blue guys and gals off the Top 5. Ugh, but in doing so you just made me say gals. I hate you. I’ve got nothing more to say on this one. It has overstayed its welcome  due to a lack of good movies coming out lately.

That’s all for this weekend. Friday we get The Circle with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks. Have a great week!
