Hey all Steve here with your Box Office results from the weekend. It’s a big day with GoT coming back tonight, so I am a little too excited for small talk. Let’s get to it!

1. War for the Planet of the Apes

Budget – $150 million

This Weekend – $56.5 million

Domestic Total – $56.5 million

Worldwide Total – $102.5 million

I have yet to have the opportunity to see this one, but I have obviously heard nothing but good things about it. I will get to it soon. Here are a couple of reviews from the site:

Gilberto’s review of War for the Planet of the Apes

Claudio’s review of War for the Planet of the Apes

2. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Budget – $175 million

This Weekend – $45.2 million

Domestic Total – $208.3 million

Worldwide Total – $347.8 million

Spidey is cranking up the Box Office numbers and is now at just about $350 million worldwide. I just saw it for the 2nd time yesterday and I took my son and he absolutely loved it. Ralph has seen it 4 times and our good friend Ruben Rosario let’s us know every hour that he dislikes the film. He is wrong.

3. Despicable Me 3

Budget – $75 million

This Weekend – $18.9 million

Domestic Total – $188 million

Worldwide Total – $618.4 million

3 weeks in and it has zoomed passed the $600 million mark worldwide. I still haven’t seen it and it seems as though my son always wants to have an intellectual conversation about it. I better get to the theater and see it soon.

4. Baby Driver

Budget – $34 million

This Weekend – $8.8 million

Domestic Total – $73.2 million

Worldwide Total – $87.2 million

Once again I’ll tell you that I really enjoyed this one. If you haven’t gone out to see this one yet, do yourself a favor and get it done. If you have seen the big boys of the summer, avoid the crowds and go see Baby Driver.

5. The Big Sick

Budget – $12 million

This Weekend – $6.3 million

Domestic Total – $16 million

Worldwide Total – $16.1 million

Another one that I have heard nothing but great things about. It is sitting at a very healthy 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and that is the icing on the cake. Go check this one out as I will be doing the same.

Wrap-up

That’s all for this weekend. Congratulations on dropping Transformers: The Last Knight down to 9th place! This week also marks the first time since its release that Wonder Woman was not in the top 5. Next weekend we have 3 very capable films being released in Dunkirk, Girls Trip and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Have a great week!
