Hey all – Steve here. Back at it for another edition of the Box Office Top 5. This was an easy one to predict, so I won’t make a big splash about the Box Office King this weekend. Just know that it was a damn good film and that it is showing it in its reviews and has now shown it where it matters and that is at the Box Office. Let’s swing to it!

1. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Budget – $175 million

This Weekend – $117 million

Domestic Total – $117 million

Worldwide Total – $257 million

The consensus on this one is that it is a GREAT film. Thought it has its detractors (like any film does), Spider-Man: Homecoming is exactly what we wanted out of a film that brings Spidey into the MCU with authority! As you can plainly see, I loved the film and can’t wait to see it several more times. It was fun, funny and with a few twists and turns thrown in there it showed the flair for the dramatic. You can see a ton of people went out and saw it this weekend. If you were not one of them then I have no clue what you are waiting on! Check out some of the reviews from CST:

Kyle’s review of Spider-Man: Homecoming

2. Despicable Me 3

Budget – $75 million

This Weekend – $34 million

Domestic Total – $149.2 million

Worldwide Total – $447.6 million

Despicable Me 3 brings home silver this weekend. Still a ton of people/kids talking about this one and the toy stores are making a ton of money on this one. This one will be hanging around the Top 5 for a while, so get used to it.

3. Baby Driver

Budget – $34 million

This Weekend – $12.8 million

Domestic Total – $56.9 million

Worldwide Total – $63.8 million

I got a chance to see Baby Driver and I really enjoyed it. I know a few people took exception to the ending, but I didn’t think it was enough to put a damper on how much fun it was watching it. From the driving to the music to Jon Hamm looking like Negan. If you haven’t seen this one yet and need an adrenaline rush, check this one out!

4. Wonder Woman

Budget – $149 million

This Weekend – $10.1 million

Domestic Total – $368.8 million

Worldwide Total – $745.8 million

Wonder Woman stays in the same position as it did last week, but jumps over Transformers which is important to all of us sane people out there.

5. Transformers: The Last Knight

Budget – $217 million

This Weekend – $6.3 million

Domestic Total – $118.9 million

Worldwide Total – $494 million

As this one slows into the single digits, we can finally see that audiences have tired of this nonsense. Although it’s worldwide total now sits just short of $500 million, you have to remember that each of the last 2 films in the series grabbed right around $1.1 billion. Nice work everyone!

That’s all for this weekend! Spider-Man is KING! Next weekend we have War for the Planet of the Apes and Wish Upon as the summer blockbuster season continues to roll on! Have a great week everyone!
