Hey all – Steve here. We have a well deserved two-time champ this weekend! We also have a movie that was one and done in the Top 5 and that was Mile 22. Hey Wahlberg, we all need an apology from you! Let’s get to the Top 5 for this weekend!

1. Crazy Rich Asians

Budget – $30 million

This Weekend – $25 million

Domestic Total – $76.8 million

Worldwide Total – $83.9 million

Crazy Rich Asians was so good that it only lost around 1.5 million from last weekend. That’s pretty damn good if you ask me (or anyone else). I’ve seen some people saying how important of a movie this is and while I think that is going a bit too far, it is a really good one and should be seen by all. If you like a good story and want some laughs, check this bad boy out soon.

2. The Meg

Budget – $130 million

This Weekend – $13 million

Domestic Total – $105.3 million

Worldwide Total – $408.6 million

One and two from last weekend are the same for this weekend. I was a fan of The Meg as well and yes, so was my soon to be 7 year old son. We all knew this would be a popular flick for the summer and it has now surpassed the $400 million mark. This is my favorite Jason Statham movie to date. Want a little bit of actions at the movies this week? Check out The Meg.

3. The Happytime Murders

Budget – $40 million

This Weekend – $10 million

Domestic Total – $10 million

Worldwide Total – $10 million

Are. You. Kidding. Me. This one just looks ridiculous. Kyle joined us live on The Put it in the Books podcast last week to discuss and just as we thought, it was ridiculous. McCarthy is NOT funny. Get it together people.

4. Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Budget – $178 million

This Weekend – $8 million

Domestic Total – $193.9 million

Worldwide Total – $538.7 million

After 5 weeks, it seems as though this one is finally starting to wind down. It is well deserving of every penny it has made and will go down as one of the top flicks of 2018.

5. Disney’s Christopher Robin

Budget – $75 million

This Weekend – $6.3 million

Domestic Total – $77.6 million

Worldwide Total – $112.7 million

I still have yet to see this one, but it sneaks back into the Top 5 for the weekend as both Alpha and Mile 22 drop off the list. I’ll see it eventually, but I’m certainly in no rush.

Wrap-up

That’s all for this weekend. Another well deserved victory for Crazy Rich Asians. Next week we could be talking about Kin and Operation Finale. Have a great week!
