Cleveland Indians Preview

The Indians are looking like the same old team that has always been produced in Cleveland. If you are looking for big names, please look elsewhere. The Indians are now made up of guys named Michael Brantly and Jason Donald. Guys like Orlando Cabrera and not the big names from the 90’s. They have a couple of bright spots and those are Shin-Soo Choo and Carlos Santana and even Asdrubel Cabrera if they can stay healthy. Also you can look at Grady Sizemore and cross your fingers that he will bounce back from health issues that have severely slowed his career down. Grady Sizemore could have been and can still be great, but it will take some luck with his health a couple of good seasons to get that done. Choo is an outstanding outfielder and an outstanding hitter and is part of a nice young core with Santana. The rotation is shaky at best. It will include Carmona, Masterson, Talbot, Carrasco and one of three other starters to round it out.

The Indians don’t have enough in an area to be considered anything more than a 4th or 5th place team in the Central this year and probably next year and maybe even a few years beyond that. Sorry, Cleveland, but it doesn’t look like any of your luck in sports is changing anytime soon…
