Hey all – Steve here. This is not typically my column to write, but with everyone under quarantine, it looks as though I will handle it anyway. That is unless Nardo wakes up from her corona-slumber quickly enough to type this bad boy up and post it before I do. That being said, let’s get to it.
Available April 1
The Ant Bully (2006) – if you’re looking for something for the kids to watch, this one will do just fine. That is unless you haven’t seen many of the good kids’ flicks that have come out over the years.
Bangkok Dangerous (2008)
Bend It Like Beckham (2003) – I didn’t like it when it first came out and I haven’t seen it since. Oh, and I really doubt that it has aged very well. Skip it like Bayless.
Blazing Saddles (1974)
The Book Of Eli (2010) – Not Denzel’s best, but even at 75% he is still better than most. This one also provided a nice little fantasy football name over the years.
The Boost (1988)
The Chumscrubber (2005)
Diary of a Hitman (1991)
Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who (2008) – Another one for the kids – have at it.
Dr. T. and the Women (2000)
The Eternal (1998)
Free Birds (2013)
The Full Monty (1997) – I haven’t seen this one in YEARS. Does it still hold up? In the time of quarantine, it isn’t worth taking chances on some of these older flicks holding up.
Fun in Acapulco (1963)
Get Smart (2008) – This one has the star-power, but it’s not one that is necessary to revisit.
Gods and Monsters (1998)
Gorky Park (1983)
Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003) – Double feature, anyone?
Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004)
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003) – I enjoyed this when it first came out in 2003, but the last time I watched any bit of it I found it to be much less enjoyable. Skip it, it ain’t that extraordinary anymore.
Let Me In (2010) – I’m all in for a rewatch of this one, but it is not something you want to hear anyone saying to while at your front door these days.
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (2008) – Meh. Kids only.
The Mexican (2001) – You know what? I’ve never seen this. It was from back in the days when I wasn’t a huge Brad Pitt fan and I wasn’t letting Julia Roberts drag me into this one. I’ll check it out when I can.
Misery (1990) – If you haven’t seen Misery Kathy Bates, then you are missing out.
Moll Flanders (1996)
Phone Booth (2003) – I love this one and I can watch it anytime and from any point in the flick.
Risky Business (1983) – Never have been a fan of Tom Cruise the person, but his work speaks for himself. You have to separate the art from the artist sometimes, right? Besides, who hasn’t seen Cruise sliding across the floor?
Romancing the Stone (1984)
The Jewel of the Nile (1985)
The Sender (1982)
Shirley Valentine (1989)
Spider-Man (2002) – Ah, the original. I’ve enjoyed all of the Spider-Man movies and I don’t care how judgemental you are going to be.
Trapped: The Alex Cooper Story (2019)
Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter (2019)
Who Let The Dogs Out (2019)
The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008)
Zombieland (2009) – Definitely once for you to check out. Then you can watch the sequel. Do it.
